Brief description
Descripción de la cabalgata de 2 días al Alto Chivilme
Itinerary
First day
Following the same schedule and itinerary described in the one day outings, on arriving at Puesto de Marcos a light picnic is served so as to be able to carry on to the peak of Alto Chivilme. At 1800 m one arrives ar the watershed, and pushes on further for a long climb from where the Valle de Lerma slowly becomes visible. With field glasses the houses of the Finca can be clearly seen. At Aguada de los Molles is a fresh water hole. After a long climb and at 2200 m the peak of Alto Chivilme is reached. From there one can see the Valle de Lerma in all its extention, from Guachipas to the city of Salta. If the weather conditions sre suitable and thermal currents prevail, soaring condors are seen in all their splendor. After a rest at the peak, the descent is initiated towards La Laguna. At first the descent is gentle, but then becomes steep and levels out on arriving at a suitable location for an overnight rest
After unsaddling, preparations for asado get under way, with plenty wine and enjoying the underscibable sensation of sleeping under the stars in the pure gaucho "cerreño" way.
Second day
After an early lunch the ride home follown along the backs of the hills on steep terrain finally arriving at Puesto de Marcos. After about an hour ride one arrives at the Finca in time for tea.
