Brief description
Si bien es una cabalgata corta y relajada, se aprovecha el día al máximo. Mientras se cocina el asado en un viejo puesto, subimos hasta un divisadero desde donde se ve todo el Valle de Lerma.
Itinerary
After breakfast at the Finca we set out at about 10:30 a.m. We cross an archaeological site known as "Loma Chata". Here the Inca armies supplied with corn, beef and wool. There are still some ruins of what was part of the famous Inca Road.
Leaving the Ruins behind, and progressing westwise we enter a thick semiselvatic forest known as the Jaguar corridor, where these animals once lived. Along the gully and ascending by the riverside one arrives at the Puesto de Marcos at about 1500 m height. Here a traditional asado barbecue lunch is served.
In the afternoon and following a trail we enter a forest of ferns - indicators of zero contamination - and carry on rising till the watershed is arrived at 1800 m, one can appreciate a wonderful view of the Valle de Lerma and Cabra Corral dam below.
The way back home is on the same tracks, arriving at the Finca for a well earned tea prior to returning to respective lodgings.
